Badge tips

Ranking up in this game is achieved by placing Hazard cards. Playing a Hazard card ends your current streak unless you play a Golden Shot card (cards with stars on them) or a Wild card.

Flawless Victory is a special badge and separate from rank badges. It's earned by completing five perfect rounds in a round (clearing all the cards).

For Golfin' Away or Tee Time, see below for the actions that earn extra tokens. You can also earn a few tokens by clearing cards in the bonus round.

For Snow Golf, play on Regular tab and work through the game as fast as possible to get more chances to play the bonus game. Bonus games will only count if you made par or better for the hole.

For badges requiring perfect holes, you need to clear all the cards.

For game win badges, refer to Game tips.

Game tips

ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help! Click to watch the Golf Solitaire tutorial.

Gameplay is similar to Tri-Peaks Solitaire and Tri-Peaks Deluxe. The main differences are that Golf is a timed game, you can often see some of the upcoming cards in the playing field, cards only go up to 11 (versus the equivalent of 13 for a King in Tri-Peaks), and you can't play a 1 on an 11 or vice versa.

Par is the target number of cards leftover at the end of a round. Clearing more results in bonus tokens.

Using a Golden Shot card will turn a Hazard card into a normal card of its face value. You can hold up to five Golden Shot cards at a time through the end of a game (five rounds).

If you don't have a Golden Shot or Wild card, try to play Hazard cards when you've placed all other playable cards leading up to it. In other words, if you have an available Hazard card with a value of 3, and a playable & available 5 and 4, play those first and then end with the Hazard 3.

If you end a round with an unused Wild card, it'll pop up into the playing field on your next round.

You can use unlimited Undos in a game, with the exception that you can only use it once at any given time.

When you've finished the Draw pile, click on End Hand to play the Bonus round once or twice (or more, if you're very quick), time permitting. Removing all the cards in the Bonus round will award you with extra tokens, a score improvement, or a Wild or Golden Shot card.

You'll earn bonus tokens for removing hazards, finishing a hole under par, having the longest streak in a round, or for finishing a game with one of the top scores for the room. For score placement awards, you'll earn more tokens the higher you place, and you'll earn more in fuller rooms.

You'll earn a jackpot spin at the end of a game (if you played at least three rounds), and if you completed the course under par.

More about Golf Solitaire

You can right-click to turn over the next card from the draw pile rather than clicking on the pile.

Everyone in a room has the same card layout for each game, but the cards aren't necessarily in the same order.

If the game is too leisurely for you, try playing on the Speedy or Super Speedy tabs.

Each game is made up of five hands. The winner of a game selects the "course" to use for the next game.

The maximum amount over par you can score is +5, no matter how high your actual score on a round might be.

Golf is the standard name of the basic solitaire game that this game and Tri-Peaks are both based on.
