Phlinx
Badge tips Be aware of the 20 minute time limit for Desert Nights, the 10 minute time limit for Sticks and Stones, the two hour time limit for Power Stone, and the one day time limit for Let Me Sphlinx About It! For badges requiring you make groups of a specific number of stones fall, concentrate on making groups of the required number fall rather than on winning the game. For badges requiring matches, work on making more matches that cause just a few stones to fall rather than large groups or on winning the game. For "win rounds" badges or those requiring jackpot spins, a round is defined as one Daytime and one Nighttime screen. Completing four rounds earns a jackpot spin. For badges requiring tokens, consider playing on a harder difficulty level to earn more tokens. Phlinx has five difficulty levels. The highest, Expert, awards a 50% token bonus each round. You also get bonus tokens by completing levels early. The Phlinx Weekend badge was only available during the dates shown above. Special Edition badges can't be activated as personal challenges. For game win badges, refer to Game tips. Game tips ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help! Remember that game progress and scores are determined by how many stones fall. Don't simply match colors: match groups of three or more that make those under them fall. You can often make very large groups fall by chipping away at the sides to form a teardrop shape, then making it fall. Phlinx has five power-ups. If you make one fall, it'll be available on your next turn. You can store one in the Stone Holder on the right (above Max Group) until you need it. ![]() Sun Stone will remove several stones where it hits. Can be bounced off walls. Time Stone will shift the playing field up one row. Stone of Destruction clears a straight line through 7-8 stones. Rain Stone removes a number of stones in the general area it's aimed toward. Stone of Change becomes any color stone. Pop it in & out of the Stone Holder to change its color. You can also use the Stone Holder to hold any color that you don't need, particularly if the playing field is getting too low. In Daytime mode you can get some pretty extreme angles by moving between the three launch spots and bouncing off walls. Nighttime mode has no power-ups and just one launch spot, but it only has three stone colors. The only goal in Nighttime is to make the glyph drop. If you have a section that's ready to drop, make it larger by attaching several stones to it before breaking it off. Just don't put three of the same color together or they'll drop and this plan backfires. More about Phlinx You can right-click to move between the three launch spots in Daytime mode. The stone launcher shows which color will be next: it's in miniature just below the current shooter. This game was spun off into the multi-player Battle Phlinx which has similar gameplay but can be played with teams or competitively. This game ranks up very slowly, but it's relaxing and doesn't require much concentration. |
