Badge tips

Points for the special Club 100 badge and ranks are higher when you take advantage of special squares on the board, described below in Game Tips.

For the Quest for Question Marks badge, you need to play a domino on Question Mark squares. These squares assign a random number of bonus points when played.

For Domino Delight (and more points in general), count up points for all possible plays before placing a tile. Aim for bonus squares and try to use them in conjunction with scoring plays (end tiles total multiples of 5).

Game tips

ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help!

The board has special squares scattered around, similar to QWERTY, which earn additional point power-ups including Instant Score (example: a +15 square earns additional 15 points); Mystery (a ? square earns a random point amount); Multiplier (a scoring move on one of these squares multiplies your score by the amount shown, up to 5 times).

Additional power-up squares are Scratchers (match two like amounts to earn), and Deal (forces your opponent to draw the number of tiles shown).

You can't play off the vertical ends of the first doubles domino until horizontal plays have been made off both sides, but otherwise this game provides more placement options than standard Dominoes. You still want to make end tiles add up to multiples of 5.

Gold arrows and tile outlines show where legal plays may be made. Use right-click or space bar to rotate your selected domino to see more play position options.

See Dominoes for more basic gameplay information.

More about Dominoes

This game was introduced in October 2007, at the same time as ranks and badges were added to the original Dominoes game.

Like most classic games, dominoes is easy to learn; but unlike games like Chess or Cribbage, it isn't too difficult to learn to play well. To improve your game, pay attention to scoring plays made by a good opponent or Pogobot.

Select Draw Until Legal Play and Limited Animations in the table options for faster games.

In the first hand of a game, the player who has the highest doubles automatically goes first. After that, the winner of a hand goes first in the following hand.

Hit Quick Draw when you're out of options to speed up the game unless you want to hand-select your own dominoes.

You can expand or collapse your opponent's domino count, score, and the board overview window if you wish, or toggle them back & forth depending on how the layout progresses during a game.
